I think my heart skipped a beat when Michelle of Trendy Bride emailed me about featuring Katie and Ryan’s, gorgeous, vintage-chic wedding! I think I might have squeaked ‘YES!’ to her email, but thankfully emails can’t do sound. Phew… But seriously, Katie, Ryan, their family, friends, Michelle at Trendy Bride and the amazing team of wedding vendors – Thank you, times a million.

Sunshine. We hoped for sunshine. Which this time of year is asking a lot, even in California. Even better…it was 60 degrees…which meant that I could wear a cute dress and open toed shoes…in February! Maybe I was a tad bit cold, but anything for style

Speaking of style – yes, that was my ingenious segway… Everyone was in awe of Dori’s beauty and style. And, had it not been sunny, it wouldn’t have mattered, her radiance brought so much to the day. Or I should say – their day. Because it was just that. They did things their way. They wanted to have a celebration of love with the closest of their family and friends. It was a small, intimate affair of 25 people who gathered to see two of the nicest people say – I do.

First of all… Dori – Wow. You are stunning.

Dori and James surprised their guests with a tour of the mansion before the ceremony. Which makes them the coolest bride and groom…ever. AND! I was able to sneak in a few photos in the historic Bidwell Mansion

Dori and James, I cannot thank you enough… for your kindness and laughter! I had such a blast documenting your love and meeting your family. I wish you nothing, but a lifetime of love.

This Summer I had the wonderful pleasure of second shooting a GORGEOUS wedding at V. Sattui winery in Napa Valley. The beautiful couple, Will and Nicole did such an amazing job putting together a very personal and absolutely beautiful wedding. I think I OOooo’d and Ahhh’d the entire time at the gorgeous details. Plus the venue itself is just amazing. I could shoot at V. Sattui all the time Not to mention it was just wonderful second shooting for Denise. Below you will find a few of my favorites from the day…

I love when groom’s deviate from traditional black and go with an alternative color for their suits. Love Will’s grey jacket.

Channeling my inner 1950′s movie star I would say, ‘These two kids have class. Miles and miles of it.’ Or at least I think a movie star from the 1950s would say this, but that is besides the point…. Megan and Kyle are a stylish couple whose wedding I had the honor of documenting a couple weeks ago. Their wedding was a beautiful reflection of who they are and the love they have for each other. And not to mention…some killer shoes, Chanel handbag and custom made wedding gown…Soooo pretty!! 

So with out further ado…I am so so so SO excited to present a few of my favorites from Megan and Kyles wedding at Skylake Gardens.

Megan’s GORGEOUS!!! pink Miu Miu heels. LOVE LOVE the bling on the heels!   (…does anyone still say bling? …hmmm.)

Megan had a little surprise for Kyle, a black check, Louis Vuitton tie.

And then it was time for the First Look!! I LOVE when a couple decides to see each other before the ceremony. It creates a private moment for them to see each other for the first time,. Plus, more time for the couple to spend enjoying their reception and less time keeping their guests waiting for pictures to be over.

After photographing the First Look in downtown Chico we hopped back in the car and headed back to Skylake Gardens. The perfectly landscaped grounds of Skylake are amazing, but just as equally amazing was the interior. After seeing the beautiful home decor matched with the soft, buttery window light I knew it would be a perfect spot for a few more shots of Megan.

Introducing… Mr. & Mrs. Lindquist. And now it’s time to party!

Saturday I had the great pleasure of photographing the wedding of Katie Gordon and Ryan O’Donnell in sunny Chico, California. We started off the day with getting ready pictures at the Hotel Diamond. I was in complete awe of Katie’s stunning dress! Love..love love the texture …not to mention her adorable clutch purse which I am on a mission to find one of my own

Katie and Ryan’s wedding was a day full of so much happiness, love and tears of joy. It was such an honor to be there to document the first day of the rest of their lives together.

Katie you are just SO GORGEOUS!!!!

Katie and Ryan were married at Bidwell Presbyterian Church in downtown Chico.

The reception was held at Katie’s parents stunning home….And lets just say I was in detail heaven! The colors…the flowers…the cute little love nest…the cigar bar….and all the fun monogrammed items. It was like a dream

Congratulations Katie & Ryan! I wish you a lifetime of happiness together…and thank you for choosing me to document your love

I am so so SO thrilled to share with you Sarah & Steven’s incredibly charming rustic wedding! Their wedding was bursting at the seems with – love, energy, emotion, and personal details. I was in HEAVEN! And…completely swept away by their love…for each other…for their family and for their friends. It was incredible. They had a wedding that truly reflected who they are.

We started out the day bright and early in Paradise, Ca for getting ready pictures. The image below showcases two special heirlooms that have been passed down in Sarah’s family.

Steven and Sarah opted for a ‘First Look’ and I was beyond excited!!! I love when a couple sees each other before the ceremony. It allows for a special moment all to themselves. And…it’s also a great way to get all the wedding photos done before the ceremony – Which means more time with family and friends at the reception.

I just can’t get over how beautiful you are Sarah! …Not to mention the adorable DIY wedding details that Sarah made herself!! The Mr. and Mrs. signs are beyond adorable.

I was head over heels for the charming, DIY, bright floral bouquets. Sarah and Steven had gone the night before and bought the flowers from the Thursday Night Market here in Chico, Ca. Close friends and family then put them together in stunning bouquets and arrangements.

Sarah’s father Tim, gave such an emotional speech. It was a beautiful moment to witness and made me a bit weepy

Sarah & Steven – Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to document your love. I will never, ever forget the warmth, joy and energy from your wedding. And I definitely won’t forget you inviting me to dance in a conga line with your family and friends!

To Sarah and Steven’s Family – Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for making me feel so welcome…like I was genuinely part of the family.
