The Leap.

She sat on her rock. The rock she knew that would not fail her.

Waiting.

Watching.

Listening to her sister Sammie let out uncontrolled shrieks of pure joy as she swam in the frigid waters. And if you know Sammie, the dog who bakes in the sun when it’s 110 degrees and loves every second of it. Frigid is not her thing. But the sheer glee of swimming outweighs her hate of being cold.

But Olive, waits….Calculating the perfect moment to take – The Leap.

After two hours of us begging and bribing her with Cheeto’s to come play in the water…The moment we stopped asking and just let her be. She made a decision. The decision to leap into the great unknown and swam for the first time all by herself. The stream carried her 17lbs farther and in the wrong direction than her four legs could muster. But we were there. To guide her back to shore.

Where she got a Cheeto:)
