There is a toilet in my hallway

Let me repeat that… There is a toilet in my hallway!!! While parts of me are freaking out at how ugly the sight of it is, another part of me realizes that this kind of thing is just what happens when you remodel. And…it’s kinda funny. Moments like these help ground me in not getting too carried away with trying to fit into a Martha Stewart magazine.

So, while the above photo does not fit into my overall design aesthetic it is all for good reason. Milan was installing a brand new Kohler water efficient toilet in our master bathroom. Installing the new toilet was extremely difficult, with multiple trips to the hardware store and a frantic race to turn the water off as it leaked through one of the valves onto the floor. The entire install was captured on film (err…pixels, really) for a how-to video for build.com.

And while my life my not be straight out of a Martha Stewart magazine – it’s definitely entertaining
